What kind of shops will ASPDotNetStorefront work for?

ASPDotNetStorefront can support a wide range of store types including: general merchandise, clothing, music, software, food products, automotive products, books, computer products, etc. The store-front is specifically designed for the small to mid-size merchant, looking to exercise complete control over their customer experience.

Is ASPDotNetStorefront just a “shopping basket/cart”?

No, ASPDotNetStorefront is a fully implemented e-commerce system. You also get complete control of your shop, so you can add customisations important for your business to succeed. We do not believe in the "one shopping basket fits all" mentality of a few years ago. Our solution is a professional, high performance, fully customisable solution. If you need custom modifications, we can even do those for you.

Do I need a merchant account?

Yes, unless you only use Paypal or Google Checkout (see next FAQ). Either way, we can assist you in setting this up. It's generally regarded as more professional to use on-site payment (where you need a merchant account) with the option of Google Checkout and/or Paypal. Contact us for assistance in setting up your account.

Do I need a merchant account if I want to use PayPal or Google Checkout?

No, both PayPal and Google Checkout are also merchant accounts, once you have one setup with them.

Can the look/style of the shop be customised?

Absolutely. If you purchase Shopframe, the customisation team at Shopframe can make your site look great, “cutting edge” and complete “Web 2.0” (that means great). Or you can just choose from one of the predefined skins.

Does ASPDotNetStorefront support secure transactions?

Of course! Your site will be fully 128-bit SSL secured and this is all taken care of for you.

Can I manage the products via a web control panel?

Yes. ASPDotNetStorefront includes a full shop administration system that allows adding/editing of all shop information, shipping, taxes/VAT, categories, manufacturers, products, affiliates, coupons, orders, etc.

Does ASPDotNetStorefront support product colours and sizes?

Yes. Each colour and size can also change the product price. Furthermore, "colour" and "size" can be renamed to other terms that better match your products if required.

Can new features be added to ASPDotNetStorefront?

Is the site hosted?

Yes. Shopframe is a fully hosted platform. Our Datacentre infrastructure currently runs hundreds of business critical applications and e-commerce sites, which run 24x7x365.

Can I change product pricing by attributes?

Yes, each product "variant' can have different pricing, and can even vary pricing by customer type (e.g. retail/wholesale, etc). You can define pricing for multiple customer levels. There is no limit to the number of customer levels defined.

Are subcategories supported?

Yes. Categories, subcategories, and sections/sub-sections are supported. Products can be mapped to multiple categories/subcategories/sections/subsections.

Are there monthly fees?

Is technical support extra?

No. Support is included in your package.

Can ASPDotNetStorefront support deferred (i.e. manual) card processing?

Yes. You can retrieve orders from the admin site, and process them manually or offline.

Can we integrate ASPDotNetStorefront with our existing corporate site?

In nearly all cases, yes. Talk to us.

Can I add an extra "handling fee" to all orders.

Yes.

Will ASPDotNetStorefront work in USA, Canada as well as the UK/Europe?

Yes. Currency display matches your locale (e.g. Pounds, Euros, Etc...). Support for changing languages in run-time is also supported. VAT tax structures and rules are also supported.

I need to translate the site to a different language. Can this be done?

Yes. Either: a) we can translate the site or b) we can provide you with all text used by the shop in an Excel file. You can just translate them, give them back to us and we can upload to your site.

Do I need to know HTML to use this storefront?

No.
